What is watermarking?
A watermark is text or a logo that is embedded into every frame of a video. It can cover the entire dimension of the video, sit in the center of the video, or be placed in one of the corners. It can be opaque or transparent so it's visible, but it will not distract from the clip or be intrusive to the viewer.
Why should I watermark my clips?
There are two main reasons to watermark as outlined by VideoMarker. First, to protect our work, and second, to help advertise your brand wherever our video goes. As video producers, you own the copyright on your video work – it belongs to you. And it’s up to you to protect your belongings if you so choose. However, since clips can be downloaded they can also be re-distributed by the customer - even though this is 100% against our rules. Customers found sharing clips are banned from future purchases on the site. So, adding a watermark in the form of your URL, brand name, or logo can help make your video unattractive to a digital thief. A watermark will remain on your clip to always identify you as the owner. The watermark is also a good branding tool for your unique content if you post previews, the watermark will appear on them as well.
How do you watermark a clip?
It all depends on what video editor you are using, each video editing program typically has its own instructions for how to add a watermark and you would have to read the manual to find out how to add a watermark to your clips. Since it is 100% dependent on what program you are using, we are not able to instruct you in how to add the watermark.
